Muhammad Raza Merchant
Mr. Muhammad Raza Merchant is a Senior Advocate High Court, a certified Income Tax Practitioner and is a renowned Tax & Corporate Lawyer. He has done his Masters of Law (LL. M) and is a practicing as a Tax & Corporate Lawyer. Besides holding a degree of Masters of Law, he has also done Masters of Commerce (M. Com).
Mr. Merchant started his practice of Tax & Corporate Consultancy under the name and style of M/s. M. M. Merchant & Company over 50 years ago of which he is a founder member and CEO. Apart from tax and corporate consultancy, Mr. Merchant’s expertise in the field of accounting and auditing led to successful establishment of accounting division under his portfolio where he not only advises various small to medium size entities in compilation of accounts.
In practice, within a short span of time, he achieved great milestones, which is a dream of most practitioners. He not only looked after the cases of both individual and corporate sector at the adjudication level, but also successfully handled cases at Commissioner Appeals, Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue and High Court of Sindh.
He is currently looking after a diversified range of clients and is primarily focusing his practice on the Direct and Indirect Taxes alongside he also advises on matters relating to corporate advisory with matter relating to Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, mergers & acquisitions, arbitration, dispute resolution and family issues.
He is regularly and pro-actively involved in recommending proposals to the Federal Government regarding Direct and Indirect Taxes provisions adversely affecting the business community. He is always suggesting ways and means to the Federal Government to increase its tax net to cater with the emerging needs of economic growth.
He is a member of High Bar Association of Sindh and is also a very senior member of Karachi Tax Bar Association, a body of 1,600 Advocates, Chartered Accountants and Income Tax Practitioners for the last more than 30 years.
He is also advising members of FPCCI and KCCI on budget proposals and issues related to both Direct and Indirect Taxes.
Muhammad Zeeshan Merchant
Mr. Muhammad Zeeshan Merchant is an Advocate High Court. He has done his Masters of Law (LL. M) from S. M. Government Law College and is practicing as a Tax & Corporate Lawyer. He has done his schooling from Habib Public School.
Mr. Merchant is a second generation Lawyer who is successfully carrying on the legacy started by his father Mr. Muhammad Raza Merchant over 50 years ago under the name and style of M/s. M. M. Merchant & Company.
He is currently looking after a diversified range of clients and is primarily focusing his practice on the Indirect Taxes (Sales Tax) alongside Direct Taxes (Income Tax).
Muhammad Zeeshan Merchant was twice elected as the youngest President of Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA), one of the largest associations of Tax & Corporate Practitioners in Pakistan in 2020 and again in 2021. He has also served as a Hon. General Secretary of KTBA during 2013 and again during 2018.
He also served as the Hon. Senior Vice Chairman of FPCCI Standing Committee on Direct Taxes and has been actively involved in the preparation of budget making proposals of FPCCI on both Direct and Indirect Taxes.
He is also a member of Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (ADRC) of Federal Board of Revenue.
Mr. Merchant regularly appears on television channels on programs related to taxation matters. He has also hosted series of programs for Web TV with the name of Economic Views and News & Reviews.
He is a regular speaker at various forms and has delivered papers on taxation matters.
Muhammad Faraz Merchant
Mr. Muhammad Faraz Merchant is an Advocate High Court. He has done his Masters of Law (LL. M) from S. M. Government Law College and is practicing as a Tax & Corporate Lawyer. He has done his schooling from Habib Public School.
Mr. Merchant is a second generation Lawyer who is successfully carrying on the legacy started by his father Mr. Muhammad Raza Merchant over 50 years ago under the name and style of M/s. M. M. Merchant & Company.
He is currently looking after a diversified range of clients and is primarily focusing his practice on the Direct Taxes (Income Tax). He is an expert in preparation of tax returns and has a unique eye when it comes of investments be it in mutual funds, stock market and/or property market. Mr. Merchant has experience of both domestic tax laws and international tax laws.
